German Somali CoastGerman attempts to colonize the Somali Coast – As far as I am aware, "German Somali Coast" is not a phrase in common use. I get just over 300 hits for it on Google. What this article is about is German colonization of the Somali coast - so that's what the name should indicate.

The German article is "German colonial efforts on the Somali coast", which strikes me as a "Germanicism" and not idiomatic English. "German colonial expeditions to the Somali coast" sounds idiomatic but might be too restrictive. (It accurately describes the content of the German wikipedia page, but I don't know if that's all there is to the history here.) I don't have any strong preferences here - except that it really should not remain "German Somali Coast". asilvering (talk) 08:19, 21 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
