Ridiculous

[edit]

His rapid expansion of the money supply "has been blamed for contributing to hyperinflation".... really? "has been blamed for contributing to"? Like there is no direct causal relationship between printing money and risingn prices. I guess we should rewrite Hitler's entry in wikipedia to make it abundantly clear that his antipathy to Jews "has been blamed for contributing to anti-semitism in Germany during WWII"... or state that "Fat Man being dropped on Nagasaki has been blamed for causing some deaths in the vicinity in 1945" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.199.122.25 (talk) 14:11, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Neutrality

[edit]

When I looked at this article, there was an ad hom. attack in the introduction. I took that out. I think that most of the rest of the article is fairly well balanced but probably not balanced. If someone who isn't revising for exams would like to go through and debug it before taking neutrality away, 'twould be great. Padsley (talk) 17:07, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that there were many weasel words scattered throughout the artice. I tried to remove as many as I could, but more effort is necessary to add information that doesn't criticise Gono and offers a balance to the article. I found this article through pressing "Random," so I have no information to add on my own. I might be willing to do the research, but I would like to know if there are any editors out there with experience on the topic. Mrathel (talk) 15:24, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I like and respect your advocacy for neutrality. But, say...."Gono, with the patronage of Mugabe, has stolen money from the RBZ" this is not bias but fact. I had a hand in writing this article. Facts can sometimes seem like we are attacking Gono. No. we are just laying out the truth as is. Samwise Gamgee 18:37, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

I don't think there are any significant problems now, so I'm removing the tag. Abberley2 (talk) 17:04, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This article is still ridiculously biased. Probably everyone outside Zanu-PF agrees, as the article suggests, that Gono's policies have been short-sighted, incompetent, and disastrous, but the article is written in a childish tone that undermines its credibility. Also, it's full of references to allafrica.com which require a subscription to access. I'll be making some changes to address these concerns. Tom Joseph (talk) 16:09, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with the neutrality issue as I only have to read the first sentance to notice the unbelievable bias. "under his watch", implies that it is clearly his fault and although this should be mentioned, we should not immediately draw conclusions like this in a one sided manner.

I've made some small changes to the article, and can no longer find anything that is not neutral. --OpenFuture (talk) 16:23, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
