Date of death[edit]

It isn't quite clear that the altered date of death, in an edit that's just been reverted, was incorrect. The Italian page is currently inconsistent as between lead, text and infobox, because of a recent incomplete edit by a named account that was intended to make the Italian article agree with the DBI (which is usually reliable). I don't know what other potential sources say. Andrew Dalby 13:02, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The ip has been doing what appears to be vandalistic fiddling of this sort (see his other edits - I've asked for someone to check the Spartan royals). No view on the correct date. Johnbod (talk) 13:07, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Now I look at it, the link says "Il M. morì di peste, a Venezia, il 4 nov. 1485" - the date I reverted to, no? Johnbod (talk) 13:11, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it does. So I think your revert was correct. I just didn't feel sure, and I wouldn't have regarded the anonymous edit here as vandalistic. It agrees with Wikidata, for example. (Which agrees with the Russian wiki, and that agreement, I must add immediately, is often a warning flag.) Andrew Dalby 13:13, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Was the Russian calendar that far out (excuse me, different), perhaps? Johnbod (talk) 14:23, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
