Hi,

I'm very surprised to read, that Gonbad-e Qabus is the highest brick tower in the world. According to my information the highest brick tower of the world is the church tower of St. Martin in Landshut (Bavaria) with 130m. See for example http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landshut, http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martinskirche_(Landshut) and all the touristic websites of Landshut (unfortunately most only in german, but here for example: http://www.howtogermany.com/storefronts/landshut.html) Maybe brick tower is a bad translation somewhere and there are used two different kinds of bricks used in Landshut and in Gonbad-e Qabus?

Could anyone try to verify where's the highest brick tower?

One is a historical tower. The other is a city named after the tower. Different things. The articles should clarify this.--Zereshk 23:57, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Qabus is Arabian dialekt of Persian name of Kavous. that was tower builder name.

AndGonbad e Kavous is current name of this city.
