Fishwick or Goodguard?
[edit]Don't you think its a bit rich calling Goodwick the port, when the rest of the world thinks its Fishguard?Frelke 21:57, 12 July 2005 (UTC)
- That is because the port is in Goodwick and not in Fishguard - simple really. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.128.135.60 (talk • contribs)
Kelly
[edit]Usually a very dry tome, Kelly's Directory of Monmouthshire & S Wales, 1895 waxes quite lyrical about Goodwick: — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 02:21, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
- "The sands stretch for about a mile and the rocky hill above is prettily sprinkled with houses, the rocky gardens attached to which slope towards the sun; the climate is so genial, that the myrtle and other delicate plants may be found in full bloom during the depth of winter."
Stop-and-Call
[edit]"Stop-and-Call was originally the name of a public house situated at the point where the tough 1-in-10 climb out of Goodwick begins to level out. One can well imagine that many a weary pedestrian and horse would be delighted to take up the invitation contained in the pub's name." I would love to include that in the article but I have made it up out of my own imagination. How far am I from the truth? — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 02:21, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
