[edit]Why is. Gowalla listed as an Android app? My understanding is that it's iPhone-only, and I don't see it in the Android market. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.54.7.166 (talk) 20:39, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
There is an Android app in beta right now, as well as a mobile version that can be used by Android, iPhone, and BlackBerry.--Pete Wall (talk) 19:39, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
Android app has now been released as of the 7th of March 2011, just to let you know and update with wiki page --mickyfitz13 Talk 11:16, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
Here they say Gowalla was lunch in march 2009, why the article say 2007?

- This needs updating following the dreadful new release which did away with most of the features. 81.187.223.119 (talk) 23:59, 2 October 2011 (UTC)
Did Facebook Acquire Gowalla?
[edit]The referenced article is gossip from TechCrunch. The articles that I have read claim that the two key employees of Gowalla (I guess there are only two) are jumping ship, shuting down Gowalla, and joining Facebook. If so, the introductory sentence is rubbish and needs to be removed. Referencing TechCrunch as a factual source seems dubious, too. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.126.144.215 (talk) 04:41, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
- Facebook acquired Gowalla, according to the CNN article that's referenced in the opening paragraph and on which the TechCrunch article is based [1] Alex Muller 13:47, 6 December 2011 (UTC)

External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Gowalla. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:
- Added archive http://web.archive.org/web/20100325235432/http://gowalla.com:80/blog/2010/01/trips-and-bookmarks to http://gowalla.com/blog/2010/01/trips-and-bookmarks
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true or failed to let others know (documentation at {{Sourcecheck}}
).

Paused active development
[edit]Josh Williams posted on the community Discord server that Gowalla has made “the difficult decision to pause active development,” though (perhaps because Discord is not on the web, this news does not seem to have been picked up by any publications. I’ve added this information to the article, but it may need a proper citation should one become available. Louie Mantia (talk) 01:53, 17 August 2023 (UTC)
