Advice

[edit]

I am glad to see that the article is being edited again and I would like to help save it, if possible, but I don't feel qualified to rewrite it myself. Here is what I think we need to do:

  1. Establish and prove notability. This means that we need references from reliable sources to prove that the Museum is notable. If we can't do this then the article will be deleted sooner or later so this has to be the first priority.
  2. Remove trivia. Complete lists of board members are not appropriate. They can be referenced instead. Most of the history in list format should go and key events should be moved into a History section.
  3. Establish a neutral tone. This means adopting encyclopaedic style and removing all traces of promotional language.
  4. Wikify. This means making internal links to appropriate subjects and breaking the text into sections. Ideally all the HTML code should be replaced with Wiki markups.

I have put the tags back on. These should remain while the issues remain. My next step is going to be to add some categories and subject headings and then look for references. --DanielRigal (talk) 17:26, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 3 external links on Gulf Coast Archive and Museum. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.
