Remove dash from title

[edit]

As shown by the credits block on the poster, the correct film title contains no punctuation. Additionally, the Manual of Style states that a dash should not be used where subtitle punctuation is unclear (e.g. because the subtitle is on a separate line). Both Deathly Hallows films apply in these cases, so both pages should be moved. 96.2.132.159 (talk) 13:05, 29 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You're proposing that this article be moved to "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" and the same with the second film? DonIago (talk) 15:39, 29 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I think that "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1" would be the best option. 96.2.132.159 (talk) 18:48, 29 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If you construe the "Part 1" as being a subtitle, then that seems to run counter to the guidance at MOS:TITLEPUNCT, but I'd like to know more about the current naming rationale and hear from other editors. DonIago (talk) 20:50, 29 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I think the current endash was put in place because of If there are two subtitles, a dash can be used between the second and third elements at MOS:TITLEPUNCT, interpreting the and the Deathly Hallows as a first subtitle and the Part 1 as a second subtitle. I don't think the reasoning is wrong per se, as everything following the Harry Potter titles can be considered a subtitle that isn't separated by a colon because of the and there. —El Millo (talk) 23:04, 29 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The Numbers budget

[edit]

The Numbers have an individual budget for Part I and II "$125 million." If someone can source it for me, that'd be highly appreciated. Thanks!

Rather than have two separate discussions about this, I'll note that this is also being discussed at the Talk page for Part 2, and it's already received feedback there. Happy to provide a link if needed. DonIago (talk) 15:07, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Cast list

[edit]

The cast list doesn't make any sense. Fiona Shaw credited in the main list, despite having a few seconds of screen time and absolutely no lines, yet Evannah Lynch had considerably more screen time and lines, yet she isn't in the main list. Very strange indeed. 81.140.89.191 (talk) 23:38, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It's according to the billing block at the bottom of the official poster. —El Millo (talk) 02:45, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please provide source, thank you. 81.140.89.191 (talk) 16:28, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The source is the poster itself, included in the infobox. You can see a higher resolution version of the poster here. —El Millo (talk) 22:58, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The qualm about the cast list I have is in regards to Toby Jones and Simon McBurney not being referenced for appearing as Dobby and Kreacher when there's references to them in the plot or other sections. Rusted AutoParts 06:36, 22 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see any reason why they couldn't be added to the prose portion of the Cast section? DonIago (talk) 20:52, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
