Searching Toastmasters International website (http://www.toastmasters.org/Members/Search.aspx?SearchMode=1&SearchPhrase=harvey+mackay&wt.oss=harvey+mackay&wt.oss_r=0&ES=false&MS=false&SS=false#harvey+mackay)

There doesn't appear to be any source or validity to the statement about him being named one of the top 5 business speakers in the world. Unless anyone has something to add to this section or about the award, I am going to get rid of it in a few days.Pizzamancer (talk) 01:01, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

After 6 emails to the toastmasters, they scanned and emailed a copy of the article from 1993 that listed this award. Should I upload the pdf somewhere, ot just add the citation and be done with it?Pizzamancer (talk) 02:04, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Overview[edit]

The information posted on the Harvey Mackay page was found at www.harveymackay.com and is used with permission, which was granted by Harvey Mackay and his staff. ----Shanon Langlie (langlish)

This page is completely self-serving and biased in its perspective. It makes no mention of his association with Gophers basketball scandals in the 1970s and is unencyclopedic in tone. matt91486 05:37, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please add the info you have on this! Even links where great!--Nemissimo 12:31, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Whoever removed the allegations in regards to the Gophers basketball team, please leave those in. Wikipedia isn't just for flattering information. matt91486 19:07, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Made a few changes so that the section reads less like a Harvey Mackey press release.

Sources?[edit]

This text has been removed from the article:

"Mackay is most famous for the revelations of his violations of NCAA rules in the 1970s when he provided financial support and improper aid to several players on the Minnesota Golden Gophers men's basketball team."

Are there any sources for it?--Nemissimo 00:47, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, there are sources in the section on it later in the article, clearly. Other sources can also be discerned from the Minnesota Golden Gophers men's basketball page. matt91486 01:59, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Quotations[edit]

Perhaps we should add a section of quotations from his books & speeches?

"A dream is just a dream. A goal is a dream with a plan and a deadline." – Harvey Mackay ... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sponsion (talkcontribs) 12:25, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No. Wikipedia frowns on quote sections in their entries. And that goal quote is older than Harvey M, and has been attributed to all sorts of people. If you want his quotes, buy his books. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.180.44.133 (talk) 06:57, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
