Merge suggestion[edit]

I suggest one page merger for Headwind, tailwind and crosswind, this way it can be clearer raraa 15:27, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

Merge[edit]

I am suggesting a single page merge for at least head and tailwind. They really have no major difference in content that they need two articles. Presumably to some article such as headwind and tailwind. TheHYPO (talk) 01:43, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vote Merge, The articles are very similar and identical in places. After all a tailwind is merely a mathematical opposite of a headwind and not an entirely different concept. hrf (talk) 23:41, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A Header is not the same as a Headwind[edit]

A header is not the same as a headwind. A "header" in sailing refers to a change in the wind direction. It is important in sailboat racing. A "headwind" refers to a wind blowing consistently from the direction you want to go. This is a sailboat racing term. See http://www.modelyacht.org/my/pdf/rulestutorial/DefinitionsOfTerms-Alpha.pdf. This should be a separate entry, linked to sailing RDS 16:19, 1 September 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by RDSeabrook (talkcontribs)
