Requested move 1 December 2021[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: Consensus to not move for now - No point relisting this as it has five days have elapsed since the last !vote. No !votes have been cast in favour of moving beyond the nomination itself, and the oppose/leaning oppose !votes all seem based firmly in policy in terms of there being a lack of a clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC once the effect of recentism is discounted. WP:RECENTISM appears to have been a common concern amongst the opposers, so this close is without prejudice for re-opening the move discussion once that is less of a factor. – The 2021 film has 2500 views per day and the only reason the 1970 film gets 10 views a day is because it has a similar title to the 2021 film. The 2021 film is the third highest grossing film in the world in 2021. Considering the fact that there are only two articles with the words 'Hi Mom', I think the search of "Hi, Mom" or "hi mom" should default to the 2021 film page with a hatnote linking to the 1970 film article ("For the 1970 film Hi, Mom!, please see _____"). The 2021 film is the primary topic. Marty2Hotty (talk) 01:03, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose, no primary topic by long-term significance. Obviously the 2021 film has more page views in the moment since it's a new release, but I think a DAB is the best solution for now.--Ortizesp (talk) 14:57, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • It grossed almost a billion dollars. The other has low significance. This makes readers have to click one more time when it could land them on the main page. They can click the hat note if they want the 1970 movie Marty2Hotty (talk) 00:50, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Question for Marty2Hotty: where do you propose the name Hi, Mom! should redirect to? Colin M (talk) 23:23, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose – better to disambiguate. No clear primarytopic here. WP:RECENTISM. Dicklyon (talk) 08:16, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Leaning oppose, per Dicklyon. BD2412 T 19:42, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
