Bahar Mustafa

[edit]

I'm in two minds whether to create a new page for Bahar Mustafa and the 'kill all white men scandal' or add it on to this page.

I shall probably do the latter when I have time, as well as clean this page up. Cacra (talk) 01:53, 23 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Supporting assertions with sources

[edit]

This article is just awful. Almost none of the assertions it makes are sourced. Rather there are a handful of opinion piece sources thrown in randomly and what seems like editors opinions about what hipster racism is. All assertions must be sourced. I'm going to give it a shot, but given the extreme low quality of the sources, it seems like the article will need to be deleted. Ashmoo (talk) 12:47, 21 August 2015 (UTC) I've made a first pass to ensure everything is supported by sources. We still need to be careful to attribute all opinions appropriately and make clear when justifications come directly from the accused "hipster racists" and which are imagined justifications from people decrying it. It should also get some more scholarly sources, if possible. Ashmoo (talk) 13:25, 21 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Just Awful

[edit]

I wonder what is the reason of this page to exist in Wikipedia whatsoever. It seems like there is a strong biased and vitriolic lead on the articles about hipsters around here, most of the content is pejorative and strongly based on personal opinion of media outlets. The main article on hipsters is highly pejorative based on a media concept, the scholar studies are ironically, an observation inside the article.

Regarding THIS page, where are the scholar works? This page has absolutely no scholar sources, half sources are once again personal opinions of media sources, they are as relevant as opinions that idolize the hipster idiosyncrasy, they are not relevant at all. And some of the source links posted here are not even online anymore. Just dreadful.

I believe pages likes this are dangerous. There are homosexuals who are racists, there are Christians who are racist, there are African descendant people who are themselves racists, and you have never seen such thing as a page for Gay Racism, Christian Racism or Black Racism. This is highly stigmatizing for the hipsters community and once again, dangerous. Is not like it is part of their beliefs and values, people in charge of editing these pages should be more careful and less vitriolic. If a hipster kid mocked you on school he/she's a d***, don't stigmatize a whole community for your own personal experience. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 177.203.86.56 (talk) 04:33, 4 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. "Examples include wearing native headdresses, or more specifically, Urban Outfitters selling clothes with Navajo and other Aboriginal and African tribal prints without giving tribute, acknowledgement, or compensation." It's now racist to sell Aboriginal inspired clothes but if you compensate them all is forgotten. How ridiculous. ThePlane11 (talk) 14:21, 23 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
