Album Leak[edit]

I removed the info on the album leak, cuz every other album gets an "advanced preview" these days. And the tone of the edit was somewhat inconsistent. Moby's record company may be unhappy with the leak, but Moby has always encouraged the internet as a means of obtaining music, regardless of the legality. --Madchester 16:23, 2005 Feb 19 (UTC)

I did the edit, because the 'its leaked' message is there on other album articles. Plus, saying 'so many albums are leaked on the web' is like saying 'so many people live in Germany'. Its still a fact about the album, this isnt really an argument to me... I hoped someone knew the exact date of the leak, and would edit my addition to blend better in the rest of the text. --J. 11:44, 2005 Feb 20
GS - L.A.M.B got leaked. Doves - Some Cities got leaked 2 weeks in advance and I had a chance to hear it before it got to this side of the Atlanic. Coldplay - AROBTTH got leaked too. Radiohead's HTTF got leaked 3 months in advance and Thom Yorke got kinda peeved. But ultimately, in the long run history of an album, it's really lttle more than a footnote in its development. If you're concerned about this, you could simply start a new article on leaked albums or something. By your logic, we should also be indicating which films were being put onto the net illegaly, or which 2004 movies had Oscar screeners uploaded on BitTorrent in the past 2 months. It's just very pedestrian knowledge at best. --Madchester 16:56, 2005 Feb 20 (UTC)
There's one step from music to file sharing (and there's quite an article about file sharing), so I thought the leaking of an album wasnt worth just a foot note. I'll erase every notion of an album being leaked noted from now when I find them, cause I am pro consistency in articles among each other, thats all really. If you disagree about that too, please tell. --J. 21.18 2005 Feb 20

Hidden track[edit]

I'm editing the part about the hidden track. It plays in my boombox just fine, so apparently iTunes is not needed. --Charron 02:12, 22 July 2005 (UTC)

No Samples[edit]

The article repeats the old story about Hotel being Moby's first album not to include vocal samples. I'm not aware that Animal Rights has any - or am I wrong? Gadsby West 02:22, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

Ambient doesn't so far's I recall. -- David Spalding (  ) 14:10, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:MobyHotel.jpg[edit]

Image:MobyHotel.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 00:07, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
