[edit]Please add www.oldfaithful.org.uk as another link on Hull FC as it is the Number 1 Unofficial Hull FC website on the internet. Thankyou Webmaster. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rugbyleaguetoday (talk • contribs) 01:02, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
1992
[edit]does anyone know how the fastest try was scored in 1992? i.e. a blow by blow account of the 9secs of play. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.146.255.155 (talk • contribs) 13:57, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Please visit Wikipedia:Featured_picture_candidates/KC_Stadium_at_night if you are interested in having the picture of the KC Stadium raised to the status of featured picture or if you think that it definitely shouldn't be featured. Owner or owners
[edit]after the owner of the two clubs could not afford to keep both afloat Where the two clubs owned by the same person company or should that read after the owners of the two clubs could not afford to keep both afloat ? Gnevin (talk) 20:14, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
John Player trophy
[edit]The article for this says it's a golf tournament, not rugby league. Obviously a disambiguation page is required, and the link needs fixing in the honours list in this article. Digifiend (talk) 09:46, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
Hull City AFC link
[edit]I don't see why this is necessary unless Wikipedia is slanted toward association football. "Hull" is not identical to "Hull City" and "FC" is not "AFC." Neither component of the two names could be cause for confusion. Maybe we should also include a link to Hull Kingston Rovers, who actually play the same sport and are much more relevant to the article.Krudmonk (talk) 01:44, 09 September 2008 (UTC)
- It is because football clubs often have FC as a suffix, thus trying this for Hull would be Hull FC which is not what is required, thus the HAT note. Keith D (talk) 09:08, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- So we are putting it there just in case someone happens to be so clueless that they would not know the name of Hull City AFC while looking them up? Why not just include a sentence in the intro about Hull FC sharing a stadium with said soccer club? As it stands, this is very soccer-centric, and I say that as a fan of both sports. Krudmonk (talk) 01:27, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
- I have added a dablink for Hull City A.F.C. I don't believe this is 'soccer-centric', just sensible sign-posting for people in the wrong area. The vast majority of AFC teams have just FC after their name, whilst very few rugby league teams can say the same. It is reasonable to assume that people will end up at this page when they are actually looking for Hull City AFC. 141.113.85.21 (talk) 11:08, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Foundation date
[edit]The date of foundation is that of the original club as stated on the badge and the changes over time are detailed in the history section of the article. The company may have been set up in 1999 but that is not the date for the club itself. Keith D (talk) 11:20, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
- I would think the intial start date of the first incarnation of the club would be the salient date, not the return to the name several years ago after the Hull Sharks period.Londo06 11:54, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
It would be inconsistant to use 1999 as the page lists 6 championships and 3 Challenge cups which apart from the win in 2005 all occured before the club apparently was founded. Studentchemist (talk) 19:09, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
Stats 2009
[edit]Should the section on current stats be in this article or should it be moved to the current season article? Keith D (talk) 19:14, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

Strip
[edit]This doesn't seem to be correct - according to the club website it should be the irregular black-and-white hoops. I don't know how to code this though. pablo 02:18, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
- Correct the kit is wrong both home and away. It has gone back the the irregular hoops. Ever now and then they use the V strip for a season. Away kit is grey. WBClarkson (talk) 15:53, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
- Ok i've now updated the kits, home one is looking good, not a lot I can do for the away. WBClarkson (talk) 19:49, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
Hull, or Hull Kingston Rovers?
[edit]The Arthur 'Bolla' Francis page at stats.allblacks.com states "…then Hull with whom he won a Rugby League Cup Final Medal". However, the past-players page at hullfc.com has only two Francis', which are Alfred Francis, and Roy Francis. Neither Hull F.C., or Hull Kingston Rovers won the Challenge Cup in this era, but both clubs won the Rugby Football League Championship, Yorkshire League, and Yorkshire Cup in this era. Could it be that Arthur 'Bolla' Francis played for Hull Kingston Rovers? Best Regards. DynamoDegsy (talk) 11:13, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
- According to the main source used in this article, no one with the surname of Francis played for Hull K.R. between 1883 and 1983.[1] I can not vouch for the book's complete authenticity, but I am not aware of a more comprehensive record of players between those years.

F. W. Oliver: Both Hull and York? and Birth?
[edit]A player named F. W. Oliver[1] won a cap for England in 1909 against Wales while at York, a player named F. W. Oliver played for Hull[2][3] during the 1904–05 season are they the same person?
According to FreeBMD, the births of two people named F. W. Oliver were registered in the East Riding of Yorkshire, the county in which Hull resides, and the North Riding of Yorkshire, the county in which York resides, between 1874 and 1889, i.e. coinciding with a circa-1904…1914 playing career, they are; Frank William Oliver (birth registered during October→December 1875 in York district), and Frederick William Oliver (birth registered during October→December 1878 in Hull district), are either of these F. W. Oliver?
As an interesting aside, the botanist Francis Wall Oliver (F. W. Oliver) was educated, but not born, in York

Eastern Suburbs, Balmain, and… Hull?
[edit]A player named Jack Dawson played for Hull [4][5] between 1932 and 1942, is this the same person as the Australian player Jack Dawson (Eastern Suburbs, and Balmain)?. Best regards DynamoDegsy (talk) 16:12, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
Date of establishment
[edit]Two editors have recently changed the date of establishment of the club from 1865 to 1999, the second one using the edit summary "The club name hull fc did not exist until 1999 after the merger of the clubs". I have reverted, as I think such a change needs a consensus (as per WP:BRD). I'd say the article is about the history of the club itself, not about the history of the name, but I can see it is debatable. And if the article about a club that came into existence in 1999, then the whole of the history prior to that would surely not belong here, would it? I invite discussion. Mr Potto (talk) 14:31, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
- Please note that the club's own web site says it was established in 1865, so we'd need some pretty good sources to assert that it actually only came into existence in 1999. Mr Potto (talk) 14:36, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
- I believe that the user Dr RObutnik will be a Hull Kingston Rovers "fan", and school has finished for the summer today, so we can expect lots of helpful edits. Best regards DynamoDegsy (talk) 15:39, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
