Renaming to Hyunjin (rapper)

[edit]

I'm new to enwiki and can someone rename it to «Hyunjin (rapper)»? — Null (contributions | talk) 13:29, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hanja

[edit]

@RDWolfgang I noticed you re-added the Hanja name back without a source; do we have a reliable source that that is the proper Hanja form of his given name? (not Chinese sources, see MOS:HANJAHANZI) RachelTensions (talk) 17:32, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I’ve used , which links each character to its individual Wiktionary page. Many articles use this approach for Hanja, as Wiktionary serves as a comprehensive resource for verifying character meanings and usage in Korean names. RDWolfgang (talk) 18:29, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There are 1505 possible Hanja combinations for the name "Hyun-jin" (35 options for the first syllable, 43 for the second). We need a WP:RS (non-Chinese) stating that "鉉辰" are the correct Hanja for Hwang Hyun-jin. RachelTensions (talk) 18:42, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Until we have a RS I've hidden the hanja name... I know there will be a "X article doesn't source their hanja!" but this is a brand new article and we shouldn't start out by introducing unsourced facts out into the world RachelTensions (talk) 03:35, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hyunjin's university, Global Cyber University, should be included in his biography as it is a part of his education. If you choose not to include it for Hyunjin, the same rule should apply to all BTS, EXO, and other idols who have attended the same university. Currently, nearly 90% of K-pop idols have "idol" listed as their occupation, which is not relevant to their universities, yet these entries aren't being removed by paper9oll.

Additionally, Hyunjin is also a songwriter. He has contributed to Stray Kids’ albums with songs like "Red Lights", "DLMLU", and "Cover Me", among others, and has released his own music. His songwriting credits are recognized on platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, Genius Charts, YouTube, and he holds 28 credits from the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA).[1] 2603:7000:8440:5A00:E99F:1FBB:B87F:5372 (talk) 16:14, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: The university can be included in the article prose if it has WP:RELIABLE source. Self-published blogs are not reliable sources for biographies (WP:BLOG). All the other people you've mentioned have reliable sources backing up the claim. Regarding its inclusion in the infobox, even if a reliable source is produced, it likely wouldn't be included in the infobox per MOS:INFOEDU:
"It is usually not relevant to include either parameter for non-graduates"
Given we can barely scrape up a source for his actual enrollment, it's even more unlikely that we'll find a source that he graduated.
Regarding the addition of "songwriter", the point of the lead is to mention notable roles and positions (MOS:FIRSTBIO), not everything they've ever done. Hyunjin has written songs but he's not notable as a songwriter and hasn't written songs for anybody but himself or his band. RachelTensions (talk) 16:39, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
