Merge?
[edit]Should this be merged to Institute for Scientific Information? I don't see the need for separate articles. Kevin 07:13, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- I was hoping to develop it, and I expect in the long term there is enough to say on this subject. On the other hand it might be ok to merge and redirect, especially as the cat gets populated.Billlion 08:57, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- Unfortunately the category was deleted. The what links to may be the best way to find highly cited authors who have WP biographies.
- The cat seems to have been reinstated, fortunately!Billlion (talk) 20:42, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

Move
[edit]- The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: no move. The proposed target or the use of "highly-cited" with a hyphen were opposed. The suggestion to capitalise "highly cited" or abbreviate to "ISI" did not generate any comments; so, editors may wish to re-open discussion on "ISI Highly Cited". Institute for Scientific Information highly-cited researcher → ISIHighlyCited.com — This is the official name of the database (service mark); see [1]. It's often written as "ISI Highly Cited" or "ISI highly cited" or even "ISI highly-cited" by third parties [2], but ISI is never expanded [3]. To avoid such vagaries, we should just use the official name. Pcap ping 16:08, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
- Comment. Wikipedia generally uses the common, not the official name (WP:UCN). As such, "ISI Highly Cited" (using caps to emphasize it's a proper noun, and probably in agreement with majority usage) would probably be best. Ucucha 19:45, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
- Comment I don't have a strong feeling on this matter, but I would like to point out a handful of (academic) sources that use this name: 1, 2, 3. Also, "highly cited" is ungrammatical, whereas "highly-cited" is proper. I am opposed to the camel case URL name, though per Wikipedia:Manual of Style (trademarks). —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 21:59, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
- According to User:Tony1, we do not put hyphens after adverbs ending in "ly"; see User_talk:Tony1#Institute_for_Scientific_Information_highly-cited_researcher and MOS:HYPHEN, 4th bullet under 3. Pcap ping 10:25, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose this article doesn't appear to be about a website, rather, it appears to be about a class of researcher... 70.29.210.242 (talk) 09:36, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
- The class of researchers is defined by inclusion in the database hosted on that site. Pcap ping 10:27, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
- But this article is not about the database itself. It isn't written that way. 70.29.210.242 (talk) 10:43, 25 February 2010 (UTC)
