Article concerns
[edit]There was a request to wikify this page by adding headings etc, which I have done. Now there is a message saying it reads like a CV. I'm not sure what is meant by this. Different sections are now clearly titles as requested and as occurs on other pages dealing with living people. There are also plenty of internal and external links. What references are still required? Abi Barber (talk) 10:38, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
This biography of a living person does not cite any references or sources. Please help by adding reliable sources. Contentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced must be removed immediately, especially if potentially libelous or harmful. (June 2008) Find sources: (Ian Ritchie (architect) – news, books, scholar)
This biographical article is written like a résumé. Please help improve it by revising it to be neutral and encyclopedic. (June 2008)
This article's external links may not follow Wikipedia's content policies or guidelines. Please improve this article by removing excessive or inappropriate external links. (July 2009)
Attempt has been made to improve the article by adding references in response to the comment above that 'it does not cite any references or sources' and also make it less like a résumé (second comment above). We understand that the external links added may not be in accordance with wikipedia's policies. Could you please advise how the article should be improved? Thank you IRAL0001 (talk) 13:21, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
- You've possibly misunderstood what a "reference" is - we should be citing specific articles and papers that have written about Ritchie; adding an external link to the website of every single organisation on the page doesn't address this.
- This itself is a non-standard approach to external links, which is why this article was flagged for its links - we should link to Hayward Gallery as an internal wikilink, not Hayward Gallery as an external link. There shouldn't ever be any external links in the article text.
- Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons has some guidelines on how to write a good biography article. The current version does read a lot like a CV, with unhelpfully promotional language such as "his design philosophy recognises the uniqueness of every project".
- If "IRAL0001" means "Ian Ritchie Architects Ltd", though, (and it seems to; you've been uploading images copyrighted to the company) you must exercise great caution when editing this article, under Wikipedia conflict of interest guidelines. Please take a look at those before editing the article further. --McGeddon (talk) 14:01, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Thank you we are aware of the conflict of interest guidelines and will try to improve the article as suggested.IRAL0001 (talk) 14:35, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Some references have been cited and the article cleaned up. Is the article now more balanced? If not please advise how it can be improved further?Alex Johns (talk) 16:16, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

New category added with link to 'List of University of Westminster alumni [1]. This page exists but the link doesn't work? :Alex Johns11:28 7 April 2011(UTC)
- I don't understand your question.
- This article does have a link at the bottom to Category:Alumni of the University of Westminster.
- Category:Alumni of the University of Westminster does have a link to the article List of University of Westminster alumni.
- The article List of University of Westminster alumni does have a link at the bottom back to Category:Alumni of the University of Westminster.
- The article List of University of Westminster alumni also includes an entry that links back to this article.
- Where is the link that doesn't work? - David Biddulph (talk) 16:19, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
Ok thank you, it appears to be working now Alex Johns (talk) 08:39, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
