I added the changes with necro

[edit]

Just forgot to sign in when i did it since I was only planning on browsing a bit. So well the link to the collaboration with Necro is added by me, plus the changes in the text regarding that.Marxistviking 01:33, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Igor Cavalera's performance improvement

[edit]

I'd like to point out how much Igor improved his skills between 1985 Bestial Devastation and 2003 Roorback. In Bestial Devastation's Antichrist, Igor just does not manage to sustain the quite broken rhythm of the instrumental break and guitar solo. In Roorback's Leech, he plays the same rhythm perfectly, notably faster, taking his revenge. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ukuk (talkcontribs) 16:28, 31 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Has Igor Permanently Left Sepultura?

[edit]

I am curious if Igor has permanently left Sepultura or not... I knew that he left to go spend time with his family, but I could've sworn, too, that he would return in 2008? Has any info about this came out?URFG 18:38, 26 May 2007 (UTC)URFG[reply]

Yeah he has, unfortunately. Sepultura's quite happy with their new drummer Jean Dolabella. It's sad, really. That band has lost so much of their credibility with BOTH Cavalera brothers gone now. 98.174.219.194 (talk) 17:48, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ig(g)or Cavalera - spelling?

[edit]

Hello! I need to establish a clear consensus on the issue of how to spell Igor Cavalera's name - he has for the past couple of years spelled it as Iggor. However, I saw an editor recently revert a change to Iggor from Igor and, when I asked him to provide evidence of consensus on the issue, all he could say was "It is simple: Iggor is not his name". As far as I'm concerned, this is entirely inadequate. Please leave any comments here.--Voxpuppet (talkcontribs) 11:49, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The naming conventions for people state that for people known by nicknames "the most used name to refer to a person is generally the one that Wikipedia will choose as page name". Our biographies MoS says that "he legal name should usually appear first in the article, followed closely by the pseudonym" but that "the article title should generally be the name by which the subject is most commonly known, the subject's full name should be given in the lead paragraph, if known". Finally, the same page says that "In some cases, subjects have legally changed their names at some point after birth. In these cases the birth name should be given as well" in the form of "New Name (born Old Name...". As such, there are two things that need to be decided- firstly, which name is most common, (see what the reliable sources refer to him as) and secondly, whether this is a legal name-change or just a nickname. I have the official Sepultura biography [1], originally released in 1999, and not once it spells the younger Cavalera's name as "Iggor", with two "Gs". This must be a fairly recent development... I any case, I think will should stick with his birth name spelling ("Igor"). Musicaindustrial (talk) 15:07, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Musicaindustrial, as I said, this only happened when they were recording Dante XXI in 2005/6 --Voxpuppet (talkcontribs) 17:58, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Most of sources about him, Sepultura and CC use "Igor". For example Allmusic, Rockdetector etc. I do not thing that he is known as Iggor. Iggor should be mentioned in the lead.--  LYKANTROP  17:26, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, interestingly in this debate Blabber mouth refer to him as Igor "Iggor" Cavalera, an example of this can be found here. User:BobGarage 14 February 2009

Skindred link?

[edit]

Why are Skindred an associated act, I can't find anything linking the two?82.198.232.101 (talk) 11:53, 21 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sepultura is definitely NOT heavy metal ! Rather death and thrash metal, but as I am not at all specialist of death and thrash metal I prefer to let someone else change it surely and precisely. Homo simiens (talk) 15:11, 14 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
