I add information on Plot and Cast and anyone can rewrite and use what I wrote. I do not stick to my copyright. Japanese sincerity (talk) 14:24, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your contributions! Your sentiment is also appreciated. Though note that you don't need to explicitly release your edits because you already agree to do so any time you edit Wikipedia. Thank you for your kindness. The words of plot are about 780, over 700. Should I cut more? Japanese sincerity (talk) 02:18, 10 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
If you can it'd be nice but it's more of a recommendation than a hard limit and some plots might need more room to be adequately summarized. If you need more guidance, WP:FILMPLOT might be of assistance. Opencooper (talk) 03:33, 10 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your work! We appreciate your dedlications. But it would be nicer if you update at once, rather than lots of micro-updates in one day (here's the guideline: WP:TWWPK). Sandbox is another way, too. Nheiichiro (talk) 23:31, 16 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! Cultural and other differences are difficult to be clearly described, without some detailed explanation. These words of the plot are needed to explain, of course a little longer. I leave them. But if need, I will revise.Japanese sincerity (talk) 03:39, 10 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

About Japanese Academy Prize[edit]

優秀賞 is "Outstanding award", 最優秀賞 is "The most outstanding award." The movies/people with 優秀賞 will be automatically nominated for 最優秀賞. See the official denifnition. Nheiichiro (talk) 12:27, 19 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

"Outstanding award"(優秀賞) was announced in December 2016. "The most outstanding award"(最優秀賞) will be announced in March. The U.S. writers have often mistranslated "Outstanding award"(優秀賞) as just a nomination for "most outstanding award"(最優秀賞), but it's actually the award.

The official definition is here: http://www.japan-academy-prize.jp/about/index.php

Below is the quote from the above:

Summary of translation of above is:

Selection Procedure

The mailed ballot will be collected and calculated by 3rd party institution and outstanding awards will be determined for all categories (five for each category, three for newcomer award).

(2) Japanese Academy the most outstanding awards
All voters will vote for the most outstanding awards from the outstanding award winners. The mailed ballot will be collected and calculated by 3rd party institution. The final result will be hold until the ceremony.

Nheiichiro (talk) 17:11, 21 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It did not win the award yet. Check this out and please stop promoting the idea. Thank you. Diogatari (talk) 19:24, 21 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It won 優秀賞, but not 最優秀賞. DO NOT count on wikipedia as the reliable source (WP:Reliable / WP:SOURCE). Your reference (Japan Academy Prize for Animation of the Year#List of winners and nominees) has wrong idea about it. Again, you must read the official definition ([link]) by Japan Academy Film Prize Association (I quoted and translated some of it above). English Wikipedia is not considered as a reliable source. Nheiichiro (talk) 09:53, 22 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Now the official movie site lists up the Japan Academy prizes as "awarded" (http://konosekai.jp/award/). Here's the quote from it:
第40回日本アカデミー賞

 優秀アニメーション作品賞『この世界の片隅に』受賞
 優秀音楽賞コトリンゴ 受賞

The translation of it is:

40th Japan Academy Prize

Outstanding Animation award: "In This Corner of the World" received
Outstanding Achievement in Music: Kotoringo received

Article fails to include the pro-life controversy about Katasumi.[edit]

The article fails to mention that Corner is controversial, due to its cavalier attitude towards human fetal abortion. The movie shows the protagonist, married woman collapse in the street, relatives discover she needs to eat for two, but she visits an angel-making facility and then shown eating for one again. These events are depicted happening casually within a single 30-second scene. Due to this issue the Corner movie was shown in truncated form in some european countries, where lifestyle-based abortion wasn't legal at the time, e.g. Ireland and Italy. 195.184.21.172 (talk) 17:11, 17 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a source to cite about this controversy? Doesn't the source mention that actually the protagonist was not pregnant? --Fukumoto (talk) 03:01, 18 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
