Relationship with intergenerational justice and intergenerational ethics

Should there be separate pages for these or is it possible to merge them in one way or another since they all deal with a similar subject? My proposal is to gather them all under intergenerational ethics since justice and fairness in general falls under the umbrella of ethics.Raybrower 13:15, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Yes, intergenerational ethics sounds better to me. Justice and fairness are more or less the same, and are closely related to good and bad, which is ethics itself. As mentioned below though, future (and indeed past) generations should also be mentioned, though the article only seems to be in its infancy to be fair. Richard001 05:08, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

However, the terminology that is cited in this article specifically pertains to intergenerational equity - which is the accepted, popular and used conception at work in this article. Mention of future generations

The current page fails to convey the importance of future generations in this field. Rather it focuses on the currently living generations (youth, adults, seniors) whereas generations yet to come get no mention.Raybrower 13:15, 24 September 2007 (UTC) I agree - in Australia intergenerational equity is most commonly used to contrast the consumption of people alive with those yet to be born. Often interests of children yet to have influence over public opinion are included with the generation yet to be born - and the guilt of intergenerational equity concerns a burden placed on everyone alive with the abilty to influence public opinion. Intergenerational ethics vs. equity

Moved the sentence from the article (below) here so we can discuss how to talk about the concept of intergenerational ethics (moral philosophy?) in relationship to Intergenerational Equity (economics/politics?), creating either a section for Intergenerational Ethics here or a new article.
