Origins[edit]

I am not sure how reliable MUNZINGER [1] is, but according to it, Maurer's father (a high school teacher) was the son of a German Saxon who had emigrated from Sighisoara in Transylvania to Wallachia. It says that Maurer's father was completely assimilated and could not speak any German, and that Maurer's mother was French. It also says there that he studied both in Bucharest and in Paris.

In Sighisoara there is a "Villa Maurer", and according to this link [2], he used to be a judge there. I also mean to have read somewhere (probably in a book/magazine because I can't find anything online) that immediately after WWII he was a candidate to the Senate (?) from Sighisoara. But as I have no references... --Mycomp (talk) 07:16, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
