Grammer, citations, NPOV and notability[edit]

First, this article fails NPOV in almost every sentence. I've rewritten it, but I'm sure it'll take a few more edits before I get it completely neutral. The grammar is horrifying, which I've also attempted to correct, but which will also require several attempts. Since this article is about a high school, it's largely written by people attending that school and as a result, citations have been overlooked as they have been in articles about other local high schools. I've added a reference section, and I'll one day come back to add citations for that section. Lastly, the "notable alumni" section was full of nonnotable people that I've since eliminated. Some clever guy also added Craven Moorehead as a notable alumnus and that went overlooked for about two weeks. To pass tests for notability, past alumnus of IHS should have articles on this encyclopaedia that can be linked to so people can read more about them. Limited exceptions should be granted in very special circumstances, but the rule should generally stand as those notable on WP only. Cumulus Clouds 05:43, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rival[edit]

I removed a part about Skyline being "the" rival of Issaquah because it was unsourced and it seems that there are possibly more than one rivals of Issaquah. If it is an official thing, then that would be great to get a quote--DerRichter 11:52, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Source for soccer results[edit]

Cumulus Clouds: I find it very odd that you would not consider the WIAA web site to be a source for information about IHS sports results. The WIAA (Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association) is the governing body of high school sports in the state of Washington. It is, in fact, the primary source for such information. An earlier reference to the same site (http://www.wiaa.com/history/) was removed as well. That reference takes you to a search page. Because of the manner in which the WIAA web site is constructed, you cannot deep link directly to the results page in question. That does not mean it is not a source. You merely have to enter the relevant information (IHS is a 3A school, the sport in question is soccer - and you will get a complete history of IHS girls' soccer results in the WA state tournament. You can do the same for other sports). The "deeplink" is required since the history page does not contain any relevant information and is therefore not a source. I understand what you mean about the WIAA being the primary source for that, so if you can find a way to link directly to the information, I will not remove it. All that is necessary is for the user to choose the school name (any school in WA state) and that calls up a page where s/he can then pick the sport. Just click the checkbox next to "Girls Soccer" and you get a complete listing of state tournament results for IHS girls' soccer.

I understand the desire to avoid sending users on an exploratory drilling expedition, but we are talking about some very simple steps - using a data base with a search page. It's not the same thing. What is more, the "schools" link will cover all sports, including baseball which for some reason does not need a source? Why does soccer need to be sourced, but not baseball? (BTW, the baseball info is correct, as far as I know - it's easy enough to check using the above link)

Also BTW, I do the videotaping for the IHS girls' soccer team. I was there.

Out of date?[edit]

Alumni[edit]

I removed these two entries from the notable alumni section since there is no hint that they attended the school. Please find some proof of attendance before restoring them.

Jennie Reed — U.S. national champion cycle racer, Olympian, and 2008 World Keirin champion.
Byron Howard — Disney animator for Pocahontas, Mulan and Brother Bear. Disney director of Tangled.
