It's a WrapIt's a Wrap (Mary J. Blige song)
Proposal 1: It's a Wrap (Mariah Carey song)It's a Wrap
Proposal 2: It's a Wrap (disambiguation)It's a Wrap
– There are now two Wikipedia articles about songs with the same title (i.e. this one and "It's a Wrap" (Mariah Carey song)) and I do not believe either are the primary topic. I would propose making It's a Wrap a disambiguation page instead. I was not sure if this would be a controversial move so I wanted to get feedback on this proposal. Aoba47 (talk) 18:22, 11 February 2023 (UTC) — Relisting. Silikonz💬 22:41, 18 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. The Mary J. Blige song was averaging just 7 hits per day last year.[1] The Mariah Carey song, although still new, is the clear primary topic.[2] - Station1 (talk) 18:55, 11 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Question: @Station1, now that the dab page has been made, would you support It's a Wrap (disambiguation)It's a Wrap instead?
If there is no consensus as to whether the dab or Mariah Carey song is to be at basename, I am considering a relist. Thanks, Silikonz💬 20:43, 18 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I see my comment needs some disambiguation. I support the proposal as written, as a step in the right direction. My main point was intended to be that the Mary J. Blige song is certainly not the primary topic, so needs to be moved. Ideally, the Carey song should have the plain title, but that doesn't have to be now if there's not yet consensus for that. • It's a Wrap (disambiguation) In ictu oculi (talk) 18:59, 11 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for creating the disambiguation page (and thank you to everyone who has participated in this discussion). I am not opposed to the Carey song being the primary topic if general consensus goes that way. I do understand the argument with page views as evidence. I did not believe it was the primary topic as I thought it was too recent, but I do not have strong feelings about it either. Just wanted to clarify this point. • Support per nomination, Station1 and In ictu oculi. As for It's a Wrap, it should indeed become a disambiguation page that would list It's a Wrap (Mary J. Blige song) as well as It's a Wrap (Mariah Carey song). —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 02:31, 12 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak support the Mariah Carey song has 9,219 views compared with only 1,212[[3]] for this one however the other is very recent. Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:24, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That 1,212 number is somewhat misleading. Probably only around 150 of those (7 per day) actually wanted the Mary J. Blige song. The rest were most likely looking for the newer Carey song and getting to the wrong article. Station1 (talk) 18:24, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Crouch, Swale, could you please clarify if you mean the Carey song, or the dab page, to be at basename after the It's a Wrap title is cleared? Thanks, Silikonz💬 22:16, 18 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    @Silikonz: The DAB page. Crouch, Swale (talk) 22:32, 18 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment. The Mary J. Blige song is not notable enough for its own article and should be redirected to the album. Heartfox (talk) 18:11, 17 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Fair point. I honestly did not look into whether or not this song is notable enough for its own article. It doesn't help that Blige is on both songs. Thank you for bringing this up as my attention was more so focused on the titles. Aoba47 (talk) 18:52, 18 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Relister comment: As something must be put at the basepage if the title is cleared, I have added two alternate proposals after the first move. It would be helpful if, in !votes, people would indicate which of the two they support. Thanks, Silikonz💬 22:41, 18 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Option 2. The Mary J. Blige song does appear to meet WP:NSONG, and a dabpage at the base name works best. 162 etc. (talk) 23:30, 18 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
How does it meet NSONG? Heartfox (talk) 00:45, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Charted on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, secondary source coverage [4]. 162 etc. (talk) 19:02, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Charting indicates that a song "may be notable enough that a search for coverage in reliable independent sources will be successful", not that it is notable. The second source is from the person who mixed the song. There is neither significant nor independent coverage. Heartfox (talk) 20:41, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Start an AfD then. 162 etc. (talk) 22:34, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
