Name

[edit]

While I don't want to dispute the explanation for his given name, I think it is worth mentioning that "Itamar" is actually a common name in the Portuguese language, and one of biblical origin (one of the sons of Aaron, if memory is not betraying me). The name could have been chosen for this similarity, but it is certainly a valid and "normal" name, not a concoction of his mother's fancy. jggouvea (talk) 14:59, 3 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"Acting"

[edit]

Removed the footnote and changed the date in the infobox. While he was acting president during Collor's trial, he was still Vice President of the Republic. Only after he was sworn in (on 29 December) did he actually become the 33rd President of Brazil, and the date in the infobox should reflect that. Zelani (talk) 01:32, 9 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

End of term

[edit]

An anonymous user is changing several presidential end dates to 31 December. This is incorrect, of course, as the change from one term to another occurs on the same day. The incoming president takes office upon taking the oath of office before Congress, not at midnight of January 1st! Zelani (talk) 18:58, 19 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Zelani:, and he/she keeps doing it. Been edit warring for days now. NoMoreHeroes (talk) 22:45, 22 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
