RE: the revert of so-called fringe material from a Gale publication

The Encyclopedia of Occultism and Parapsychology is a copyrighted publication from 2001 published by The Gale Group Inc. available under Encyclopedia.com. "Purce, Jill (1947-)." why "supposed"?

this sentence in the entry currently says: "Her work with the voice was a major impetus behind widespread research into the supposed healing effects of sound from the 1970s onwards."
