Sources need reverification
[edit]The cited sources may be incorrect - Belmont in New York was apparently run by someone else https://books.google.com/books?id=WeUCAAAAMBAJ&pg=PA88&lpg=PA88 Shyamal (talk) 06:37, 10 July 2018 (UTC)
- @Shyamal:Thanks for your work on this. The statement "After retiring he opened the Belmont Bird and Kennel Shop in New York City where he continued to produce records to train canaries" is not at all supported by the citation (Hoffman). However, I don't see in New York Magazine where it says which Belmont founded the shop. Do you have a source regarding the dental problems? 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 13:43, 10 July 2018 (UTC)
- The Find-a-grave site gives this information - https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/25456197/joseph-walter-fulton - feel free to remove it if you feel it is unreliable. Putting the two sources together it is clear that Virginia "Belmont" was married to Joe's son Walter but it is unclear which Belmont started it - it seems more like it was quite a team - see this. - Thanks! I found the Walsh article on Belmont in the old Hobbies magazine, so I'll be significantly adding to this article. I infer from the article that Joe started the bird shop as an outgrowth of his theater work, but but since it's not explicitly stated we should leave it out. What I can't find is any reference to dental issues, and the article was written one year before Sr. Belmont's death. 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 13:32, 11 July 2018 (UTC)
