Early albums released on Jarrah label?
[edit]The Jarrah Records entry (and the official website) list it as being founded in July 2002. Why are the albums released before this date attributed to Jarrah? --James 09:18, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
- It is incorrect as both the JBT EP and the debut album, John Butler, were both released as independent releases not through Jarrah Records. I can confirm this as I have copies of both. I suspect that the same thing applies for Three but will see if I can confirm that - Dan arndt 09:15, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
- Have checked copy of Three and it was also an independent release not under the Jarrah Records label, which was as correctly stated established in 2002 - have corrected the various entries. Dan arndt 05:57, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Poor reference to overseas tours
[edit]This page at present only features reference to tours of the USA - this is a predictable, but ridiculous, situation. JBT has toured other places too and there is nothing special about the USA (apart from the historical accident of JB's birth). Time to get over the cringe. I don't have the info, but a bigger fan might. Gmelina (talk) 04:56, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
open finger tuning
[edit]What's "open finger tuning" supposed to be ? Is that open tuning? And the coherence to celtic music etc. is a little odd. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.21.242.97 (talk) 15:07, 6 February 2010 (UTC)
Red Rocks
[edit]Someone recently added information about JBT show at Red Rocks, Colorado and it being streamed on the internet. I have corrected the issues that this paragraph originally had, but I propose to delete the paragraph altogether as I can't see how one concert, amongst many hundreds that JBT perform, is notable. Before doing so I'd like for someone to convince me otherwise, or at least tell me why it was included to the article? Teachingwedge (talk) 05:13, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
"Eclectic Roots Jam Band"
[edit]I'm not sure this is the case, and at least in respect of "Eclecticism", I think this needs a citation. The definition on Wikipedia says someone has intentionally gone about a genre alien to his or her own style. I'm not sure we can claim JBT has without proper citation. Similarly, Roots music is really broad, and to link it here to World music seems a bit odd, when there are several other articles which the Roots music disambig page relates to. I think we need some discussion here as to which is appropriate, as I really don't think World music is the correct one (although whenever I have to try and categorise JB's music I struggle! Teachingwedge (talk) 06:42, 16 November 2010 (UTC)
- In the meantime, I'm editing the link of "Roots" to World music, to simply to go the Roots music disambig page. If you take a look at the discussion on that page's talk page, it will tell you that the purpose of the Roots music page is to provide links to all the different types of Roots music, which more accurately represents JBT.
