Proposed deletion of John Felice article

[edit]

Keep - or redirect to possible new Real Kids article. There are several issues here. Firstly, Felice was, with Jonathan Richman, a founder member of The Modern Lovers, who are clearly notable. However, WP:MUSIC states Members of notable bands are not given individual articles unless they have demonstrated notability for activity independent of the band. Fair enough - the issue then becomes one of whether Felice's later activities - i.e. The Real Kids - make him notable. In my view they do - The Real Kids are cited in multiple sources as important in the early Boston punk rock scene, have an AMG article, released albums internationally, etc. If the deletion proposal would be overcome by having an article headed The Real Kids, rather than a redirect to John Felice, fine, I will do that. Done. Better or not? Ghmyrtle (talk) 13:37, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Past Members: Billy Cole?

[edit]

I may be mistaken, but wasn't Billy Cole part of the official lineup at one point? I didn't see him mentioned in the article, or listed as a present or past member. BudJillett (talk) 01:15, 16 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, and for longer than Borgioli. I don’t have a source, or I would add him. User:Kafka Liz a girl is no one 13:33, 28 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
He's mentioned on bass here: https://www.allmusic.com/artist/the-real-kids-mn0000490620/biography , and on rhythm guitar here: http://www.mynewsdesk.com/uk/dirty-water-records/news/the-real-kids-boston-solid-gold-rock-legends-return-to-london-spring-european-tour-dates-228337 , mentioned here: https://www.bostongroupienews.com/JohnFeliceInterview.html -- these sources seem independent enough. What do you think? MainePatriot (talk) 15:24, 28 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
My knowledge of what constitutes a reliable source on music articles is a bit behind the times. These look good to me, but maybe if Ceoil could take a look? He knows the protocols better than I do at this point.
ETA:Second article even mentions Dick Oakes, so I’d have to say they know their stuff. User:Kafka Liz a girl is no one 20:31, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. I tend to think these sources are good, especially for a local music scene. But I agree a third eye should have a look. We'll see what others say. MainePatriot (talk) 20:47, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Paging Casliber for source check? Thanks, and sorry I had to ask. User:Kafka Liz a girl is no one 18:01, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Music sourcing definitely ain't my forte but I think allmusic is reliable enough....not sure about other two.Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 20:26, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I’d say, MainePatriot, add away, and I’ll do ce if any is necessary. User:Kafka Liz a girl is no one 23:23, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
