Talk:John Oxendine
This article must adhere to the biographies of living persons (BLP) policy, even if it is not a biography, because it contains material about living persons. Contentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced must be removed immediately from the article and its talk page, especially if potentially libellous. If such material is repeatedly inserted, or if you have other concerns, please report the issue to this noticeboard. This page is about a politician who is running for office or has recently run for office, is in office and campaigning for re-election, or is involved in some current political conflict or controversy. For that reason, this article is at increased risk of biased editing, talk-page trolling, and simple vandalism. If you are a subject of this article, or acting on behalf of one, and you need help, please see this help page. |
Picture
[edit]What is the best way to get a picture added. I have recently been updating all of the pages for people running for Governor in the US, and notice that many have pictures. Any suggestions?asdf (talk) 17:58, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- Perhaps contacting his campaign and requesting the use on Wikipedia of one of their images. I haven't been able to find any free-use or fair-use images the licensing of which would allow them to be used in this article. Qqqqqq (talk) 14:26, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
- What kind of permission would they have to give to satisfy Wikipedias standards?asdf (talk) 08:50, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry; didn't see this. I guess if you do upload an image file to Wikipedia, you'd want to include in the image description a quote from someone at the campaign granting permission to use the image on Wikipedia. I think it can be pretty simple. Let me know if I can help. Qqqqqq (talk) 06:56, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
BLP tag
[edit]I just tagged the page for a possible BLP violation because of the lack of sources. The controversies section is completely unsourced save for a PDF file that links to an investigative report. I'm sure the sources are out there, but since I know nothing about Oxendine, I think someone a bit more qualified should have a go at it. Pinkadelica (talk) 07:33, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
- I have taken out all of the overly passive tones. Most of this is not sourced. There are like two newspaper articles, and neither include as many details as are in the wiki. Any suggestions?asdf (talk) 07:32, 18 June 2009 (UTC)
Georgian in lead
[edit]I have removed this MOSBIO. --Tom (talk) 13:07, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
Campaign advertisement
[edit]The Political Positions section seems to have been copied verbatim from campaign pamphlets. I'll change the title to "Gubernatorial Campaign Platform", but most if it will need to be rewritten. --Electric-Oatmeal
Lumbee?
[edit]Is there any sort of backing for putting that next to his nationality--or including a nationality at all? I'm interested to see any sort of citation for that, considering I've met him personally. 99.12.147.142 (talk) 01:01, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
Front runner
