I used to work for this company. It was run by Israelis Yarov "David" Egosi and his son Yassef. They got in trouble with the labor board as well, for not allowing people to take lunch and for re-adjusting their pay schedule several times during the course of business without notifying their employees. ----Julien Deveraux 22:30, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Ironically, as a customer, I was delighted until EarthLink took over (less reliable, double-billed me, had to file a credit complaint). Is there any documentation of the above labor issues which could expand the article? -RJFerret 23:39, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Sadly, there's no online documentation regarding the dispute with the Department of Labor. I received a letter from the Federal Department of Labor regarding Hawk Communication's (Joi Internet's parent company) failure to properly compensate workers for overtime pay and the DoL's investigation into same a year after I quit. Another year after that, I received a check from Hawk Communications for $5.04 that was sent registered mail (costing them $10 to send) -- I never cashed the check out of enjoyment. The working conditions were also very bad. They had 20-30 people cramped in a 10'x8' room. The people who worked the overnight shift did not have access to the bathrooms since the access cards didn't open the door back into the "call center" from midnight until 8am. Most of the furniture was also hand constructed by employees (on unpaid time).----Chris McCoy 04:49, 11 October, 2006 (UTC)
