Father linked to wrong John Hiester
[edit]Someone had Wikilinked to a John Hiester, but that is not the John Hiester who was Joseph's father. (The linked John Hiester was actually a cousin.) The linked John Hiester was born in 1745 and Joseph the general/governor was born in 1752. John could not have been seven years old when he fathered a child.
There are many Joseph Hiesters and John Hiesters in Pennsylvania genealogical history -- several dozen apiece in fact -- so keeping them all straight can be confusing. 108.52.84.213 (talk) 15:22, 16 December 2018 (UTC)
