Birthday?

[edit]

Does anyone have an official source on what his birthday is? I'm finding a few on the internet saying June 11th, 1983, but those are Wikihow, and I doubt that's a reliable source. Someone added that it's the 10th a little while ago, but I'm not sure. For now, I'll keep June 10th but again I'm not too sure. Anyone really know when his birthday is? 24.137.93.248 (talk) 19:48, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I know it's June 11th (from his Twitter) but I'm not 100% sure on the year. I think it's '84, definitely not '83. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.49.98.84 (talk) 06:19, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

According to the London Free Press article he was age 26 at the beginning of 2012, which would put his birth year as 1985. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 19:55, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
And this article in The Globe and Mail places his age at 26 in May 2012, so that again is in keeping with his birth year being 1985. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 16:06, 12 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Josh was born in 1980. I went to Preschool and Elementary school with him in Vancouver, BC (Uhill Elementary) and was briefly friends with him. This article also backs up him being born in 1980 https://www.nextbiography.com/josh-ramsay/ 216.181.247.125 (talk) 06:27, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
We've had a number of edits from anonymous editors saying something to the effect of "I knew Josh in school, and he was not born in the year that newspapers suggest." It's hard to know what to make of that. As for nextbiography.com it does not appear to have the editorial oversight that The Globe and Mail or the London Free Press have. See Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 04:19, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The London Free Press article doesn't actually give his birthday and it was extrapolated from a guess at his age. The globe link seems to be dead. If you you also look at Magee Secondary school alum he is listed as graduating in 1998 which would have being born in 1980. Someone did poor research and used it as fact and others started to use it for years. The internet for you. https://lechool.com/school/Magee-Secondary-School 216.181.247.125 (talk) 12:44, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I created an account, I have been the only one trying to edit his birthday as 1980. I grew up down the street from him. He grew up on Acadia Road. 216.181.247.125 (talk) 12:57, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also June 11th isn't his birthday. It is April 11th. I thought it was earlier. Source: https://twitter.com/JoshRamsay/status/321092353916018689?t=mDv6pit-xvYYD97ZZ2xDdg&s=19 Stevesurf22 (talk) 19:10, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia credibility for you. Power trippers rather rest "facts" on some vague mention of an age in an article that has no back up source, over someone with first hand knowledge. If anything the age should be removed until a documented verified full dated source is found. Stevesurf22 (talk) 17:59, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Is that ("Power trippers") a personal attack? It sure sounds like one. Be advised that is not tolerated here. General Ization Talk 18:07, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry to offend. Although those that have the power to correct the error seem to be ignoring how the incorrect date was arrived at years ago, and has since been used as fact. They seem to be ignoring evidence that it is incorrect. My guess from my first hand knowledge and his twitter post his birthday is April 11, 1980. But in reality it should have never been posted to Wikipedia back in 2015 as it has been incorrectly used since. Any article staying his age since 2015 has probably used incorrect information from wiki. Stevesurf22 (talk) 18:38, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

[edit]

how about this- notable? don't think this meets the criteria. anything about his achievements, which are limited to his only band, can be put in the Marianas Trench article. I don't think the ability to play 9 instruments makes one eligible for a personal wikipedia article. There aren't pages for each band member; what makes him special? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.251.223.42 (talk) 22:30, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
