Biography
[edit]Plenty of details to add, facts to clarify and sort out. This is all based on one source. Lots out there on Mr. Colt. I've felt bad that he wasn't included earlier. --Pat (talk) 02:38, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- So he's the reason for Colt Station. I always thought it had to do with horses. I wonder if there's enough info on Colt Station for its own article. Know of anything about Mr. Colt that could be used in a DYK entry? --Dtbohrertalk•contribs 03:38, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- His accomplishments are of local interest, I'm afraid. Lots of firsts, like first worship service in Erie Co, first house of worship in Erie, and first county road after the French left. I've not researched Colt Station, so I can't really say if there's enough for a stand alone article. Nelson says everyone left after Colt went to Erie in 1804. I guess the road he built was 89? I should have looked at a map to get a better idea of the geography before I wrote the article. I guess I had LeBoeuf in mind, that far south, when I was thinking of Colt Station. The Greenfield article itself is rather sparse, so maybe you could add a section on its local history and talk about Colt Station there? I leave Erie in a month, btw. --Pat (talk) 04:25, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- I bet only bits of info still exist on it. All thats left of Colt Station is its name on some maps. Either way, I'm starting a list of articles that need to be created. The Railroad Guage War has highest priority and now I'm starting to think that Old French Road needs an article.--Dtbohrertalk•contribs 04:47, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hopefully you have this checked into your watch list... but there is plenty left of Colt Station. Certainly more than just it's name on some maps. Colt's Station, as currently held to be, is small but it's there. 3 Families, 2 Farms, 1 Restaurant. There's more, but it's a secret :) Anyways, once I get all my info organized there should be more than enough to write an article about Colt's Station.Infero Veritas (talk) 17:18, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
