Notable for that...?

"They are notable for being among the first non-black metal Norwegian bands or artists singing in their native language to become popular beyond Scandinavia."

Okay, fine, that's a factual true statement, but are they notable for it? I doubt people were saying "wow, have you heard this new band, Kaizers Orchestra, they're non-blacks, they play metal [no, they don't by the way], and it's in Norwegian!" Isn't this a ridiculous (factually correct (apart from the genre)) sentence? They're "notable" for many things, their Norwegian texts MAYBE being one of them, but for being non-blacks? That is just silly. They're one of the most successful bands in Norway's history, period. Isn't that a bit more notable? Fine, if you necessarily want to squeeze in the fact that they write Norwegian lyrics (which hardly is an abnormality in the NORWEGIAN music industry, that's perfectly okay. Breakup

Apparently there is some doubt about the breakup of the band. Sadly as it is they have broken up after yesterdays concert. This article on their official site confirmes this: [1]. Genre

If we really have to label this band with a genre, we should discuss it and not let anyone add strange or vague genres to describe this band. Presently I removed any genre labeling from the infobox. Feel free to discuss this. --Ifrit (talk) 04:10, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think alternative rock would be a proper genre labeling because even in the sources and the article itself it is mentioned as "an alternative rock band". If no one objects, I will label the genre as alternative rock. --Myxomatosis75 (talk) 15:59, 3 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
