It is now known that the German effort to build an atomic bomb was far from completion, and although this man's efforts were no less valiant, in hindsight they were not as necessary as previously thought.

History research is a field were many people try to get notability by disproving settled conventions. For the most part historians have agreed that Hitler had an advanced A-bomb project. The later 5 years or so some researchers have pointed to information implying that Hitler's program was in no hope of success even with the heavy water, but that has also been rebutted later. My point is that even though the theory of a feeble German project has gotten a lot of attention in later years the issue remains unresolved. Inge 19:32, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I would suggest reading the epilogue of 'Skis Against The Atom'. It addresses the issue of the ability of the Nazi regime to build a bomb. I would also suggest you reconsider your position about these actions being 'not as necessary'. What is 'now known' and what was 'known at the time' are very different things. Every step was 'necessary' to prevent the Nazi-bomb.

I agree, this reads more as propaganda.

Was he born the day before his twin sister?

Strictly speaking, this is too trivial to bother with, but I'll do it anyway: Twins may actually be born in different years, if they are born each side of a specific midnight... Autokefal Dialytiker (talk) 02:33, 19 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
