A user added Afro-Turk sculptor to the lead and the short description now reads Afro-Turk sculptor. Is this accurate? From what I understand in the article Acars fathers roots lie in Libya and his mother is of Ethiopian ethnicity. Both his parents have roots in parts of Africa. Acar was born in Istanbul, this would make him an ethnically (North)African Turk. But Afro-Turk means something else, according to its article, Afro-Turks are Turkish people of African Zanj (Bantu) descent. This is not the ethnicity that or place of which either of his parents are. So I think the article is currently innacurate.@CeeGee@Ortizesp@PTnguyen realGazozlu (talk) 21:41, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think Afro-Turk needs to be included per MOS:ETHNICITY, maybe just Turkish. I do think he counts as an Afro-Turk, I don't think only Sub-Saharan Africans count, but maybe that's just me. Ortizesp (talk) 03:04, 18 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Accoding to the article Afro-Turks it is only used for those people and would not apply to Acars parents. I see the Afro-Turk article is also under heavy discussion in the talk page of the article about accuracy however. Gazozlu (talk) 07:07, 18 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
