Added brief history and details of the Kwikset Corporation. Worked there for 24 years in both the Unted States and Mexico. —Preceding unsigned comment added by BigGuyC (talk • contribs) 14:12, 29 December 2006
Kwikset long had a reputation of making low-quality, consumer-grade locks that were easily picked or susceptible to brute force attack. They began to change this image in 1992 with the introduction of the Titan line, which was rebranded as the "Signature Series" around 2005. When "lock bumping" became widely known as a way to bypass pin tumbler locks in the late-2000s, Kwikset redesigned their locks to make them pick-resistant and bump-resistant, again enhancing security. It might be worth mentioning in the article, in a way that can be documented, that the better Kwikset locks of 2010 and later appear to be a far cry from their locks 20 years earlier, although they still offer low-grade, inexpensive hardware for those who desire it. — QuicksilverT@17:10, 29 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
