Advanced editing

[edit]

Since the tour has SUPPOSEDLY come to and end, guess it's time to make a whole revision on the article. The newest edits, although really welcome, have not been all good, so I tried my best to make improvements without deleting anything. I suggest the act's description and the images to be removed, since they are looking, so far, like an ad or a fansite. The section should only be re-added after we have the official description of every act, so that we can proper write it and link it to Kylie's reference (this would make a REALLY rich article).

Also, remember, guys... This must be written the BEST and the MOST impartially we can.Luxer88 (talk) 19:49, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ticket Prices and capacity

[edit]

What are the ticket prices for this tour and the capacities for the stadiums?

Ruffle My Feathers/Everlasting

[edit]

Please editors of the KYLIEX2008 please take note. From the research I have done, there is NO LICENSED, REGISTERED OR COPYRIGHTED SONG by the title, "Ruffle My Feathers" within the US, EU, or Australian database[1]. There is also no set list in the tour book to verify. Until Ms. Minogue, her record company, her management team, or the press provides information as to its song title, PLEASE leave the title of the song as "Everlasting". If you have found verifiable proof of the song title, please log-in or create an account and provided a credible reference to your article (FAN PAGES AND FORUMS ARE NOT CREDIABLE REFERENCE). Dancefloor royalty (talk) 15:12, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Until a reference (from a non-fan site or forum)is cited for the article, the song title will remain "Everlasting" Dancefloor royalty (talk) 22:50, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

User talk:Dancefloor royalty, please note that anyone is free to edit the article. Your insertion of hidden notes that demand that editors log in, register, or should consult your comments here before editing is improper, and violate WP:OWN. In fact, no, the reference you provided on the page to prove there's no song by the name "Ruffle My Feathers" doesn't support that Minogue has no song by that name. You removed a reference from what is listed as Minogue's website, which appears to have too much content to simply be a fansite. Please assume good faith and work with editors, don't be contentious. Finally, please be aware that new content to ANY talk page should be done at the bottom of the page, not the top. Wildhartlivie (talk) 00:41, 10 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

During the show in Glasgow lastnight (9th July 2008) Kylie introduced the song by saying "This is my new song, it's called Ruffle My Feathers." Skanedog (talk) 09:24, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Constant changes

[edit]

I've reformatted the page yet again because it keeps getting changed back for no reason. Wikipedia is a collaborative effort and other are allowed to make constructive changes to the page without having them inexplicably changed. Album titles need to be italized. If an article (ie song, etc) is listed in Wikipedia, the title needs to be written exactly as the article is named (ie On a Night Like This vs. On A Night Like This). Overlinking is also discouraged. There's no need to link to Kylie's X album multiple times. It's already linked twice in the article, that is sufficient. There's no reason these minor changes should be such a source of contention. If these changes are made again, there should be an accompanying edit summary or a note to this talk page explaining why this page should not follow simple policy. Set list in Prague

[edit]

Please, correct the set list notes about the songs which Kylie "sang" in Prague. Songs Hand On Your Heart, The One, Breathe, Fever, Stars and All I See were not performed there! Your Disco needs you was also performed in Prague and not only in Germany.

Article Image

[edit]

Please stop constantly changing the image in the article's infobox with images marked for deletion, etc. If you have any additional images to add, please place them in the body of the article. Alkclark (talk) 18:38, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Set List Order

[edit]

I know she is making show-by-show changes but until the show is complete and someone can clean up the article, let's please try to maintain the order of the setlist as it was performed in Paris. Please continue to do as other editors have done and edit via the sublist that appears at the bottom. Dancefloor royalty (talk) 11:58, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Additionaly, please do not rearrange the entire setlist order based upon performances held after the Paris 06 May 2008 performance. Please, just add footnotes as other editors have to show that the order is changing. If there is a significant change, please place that change here so that when the tour is complete, a final setlist can be made. Thank you. Alkclark (talk) 10:10, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Shocked (DNA Mix) didn't show in Cologne —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.51.143.18 (talk) 18:53, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Shocked (DNA Mix) was performed at the Cologne date. It was cut down to 30 seconds and only featured a dance performance by the background dancers. Dancefloor royalty (talk) 06:11, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion: Since the tour's supposedly ending next monday on London, a "general" setlist order can be made and be the one to be shown at the article, with just a note saying the setlist changed to Kylie's mood (LOL), pointing other songs as "have-also-been-performed" (like "that's why they write love songs" and "cosmic). Further, this can be replaced by the setlist from the inevitable DVD ;) I think it's needless to refer to every single change made... Too much minor information, IMO.Luxer88 (talk) 23:51, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Significant changes in setlist order

[edit]

Please place all significant setlist order changes here instead of completely butchering the setlist in the article. This way, a final setlist can be made once the tour is complete. Dancefloor royalty (talk) 17:07, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Cosmic has not been performed since Stuttgart

  • Your Disco Needs You performed in German version for all concerts in Germany —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.48.109.39 (talk) 20:59, 31 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • The One was performed impromptu/acoustically during the "Encore" section in Oslo ,Stockholm and Riga.

This information is false and should not be taken into account when creating a final setlist Dancefloor royalty (talk) 06:09, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
*The Madrid setlist order was as follow: Xlectro Static, Cheer Squad, Beach Party, Xposed, Naughty Manga Girl, Starry Nights, Black v. White and Encore.

  • Uh, if you folks are basing this setlist in any way on your own observations, you are engaged in original research. Unless there is a published setlist, people's memories of what songs they remember hearing or whatever are not reliable sources. Beeblbrox (talk)

adding images to this article

[edit]

Is anyone apart from User:Dancefloor royalty seriously bothered about adding images to this article? IMO I think having images of the tour adds information and is relevant to the article in every sense. Gryffindor 11:32, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

He (or she?) seems to be bothered by everything, LOL, though I have to agree that a firm hand helps keeping things under control, especially when you're part of the Kylie project on wikipedia. But Gryffindor, I do agree with you, some more images would definitely not be bad, especially when we have every act official story/description. Kylie used lots of references, not only on KylieX2008, so, with just a bit of collaboration, we might be able to make a huge article about this tour. ;) Luxer88 (talk) 03:27, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I mean if the user wants to add information to the article, please by all means. But constantly removing images of the concert tour itself (and it's not clogging anything up IMO) adds value to the article. Gryffindor 10:03, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, images added, but now, especially due to the pics subtitles, the article is really looking like coming from a magazine, not on the level of an encyclopedia. I then suggest the pics to be re-arranged and subtitled just with the act's name. Discuss. Luxer88 (talk) 23:43, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problem with adding images, although, she is right pertaining to images, etc. I have added more content to the article and re-added the images. Not the best prose so feel free to edit. Alkclark (talk) 14:28, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cheers. Gryffindor 04:11, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

4Music

[edit]

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding/missing something, but Kylie's tour wasn't 4Music's first broadcast (that was Davina and whatsit's top 20 videos thing). I mean, unless it was meant to say '4Music's first tour broadcast' or something? londonsista | Prod 20:56, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It was not "something". KylieX2008 was the rebranded Channel4's first official broadcast. Reqluce (talk) 13:44, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Supposed "2nd Leg" Set List

[edit]

Please discontinue adding this set list to the article. At this point, there is no justifiable changes from the posted set lists (3) to justify adding a fourth. The only changes I am seeing (from what editors have posted on here) is:

  • No NMG section (which was not included in open air shows, already posted in article)
  • Costumes (which are not relevant to set lists/running orders)
  • Encore (she has split the encore into 2 acts and added BTDYK and a song from West Side Story)

I ask all editors to please refrain from adding this fourth set list until there is justifiable reasoning. By doing this, this violates Wikipedia's neutrality policy and will be seen as a conflict of interests. These edits will be quickly reverted and considered vandalism. Alkclark (talk) 08:02, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And why there's a section for the Open Air European concerts then? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.41.202.162 (talk) 19:35, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hotel opening Dubai 2008

[edit]

can the hotel opening concert in Dubai be considerd as part of the tour??!(MariAna Mimi 17:46, 21 November 2008 (UTC)) i think yes... it had the same stage and versions for the songs... only different thing it was the costumes. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.41.202.162 (talk) 19:36, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This article subjected to sockpuppet operation

[edit]

FYI, this article was subjected to a long-running sockpuppet operation. Alkclark and Dancefloor royalty and KM*hearts*MC and 64.140.0.3 were all the same person, operating in conjunction. See Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Alkclark. Any changes made to the article due to false apparent consensus or due to edit war bullying by the socks can be reversed. Merge with KylieX2009

[edit]

I believe these two articles should be merged together. The X2009 title is a fan name, and that page even says that X2009 is just a continuation of this tour. Just because those dates are in 2009 doesn't mean they can't be part of this tour. ---Shadow (talk) 04:34, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merged the two articles, after nearly a month, no editor has contributed to the discussion. Thus, I feel there is no objection to the merge. From online videos and photos, I don't see a noticeable differece, besides clothing, of the two shows. Runs on empty (talk) 23:58, 23 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Kylie has been clear that the so-called X2009 was not part of KylieX2008, so the 2009 dates must be edited out. I don't want to do it myself, especially just reverting Runs on empty's edit, what would be very aggressive, since quite a few minor changes have been done since. 201.66.202.183 (talk) 04:32, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Where is your proof of this? If they weren't part of KylieX2008 then what concert/tour where they part of?

"X Tour"

The usage and topic of X Tour is under discussion, see Talk:X Tour (Ed Sheeran tour) -- 70.51.202.113 (talk) 05:25, 27 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
