Verification of Information[edit]

As my knowledge of this song is minimal and since the majority of online information regarding it is written in Spanish which I can’t read, I decided to include information from another Wikipedia page (Tehuantepec#Velas) in this article. I believe that this information is accurate, as it was referenced. However I have not personally seen two of the references, "Festejan 150 anos de la 'Sandunga"' and "Vela Sandunga: Viven el esplendor de la fiesta tehuana" as they are not available online and are written in Spanish anyway. The third reference, "Santo Domingo Tehuantepec" though online, is also written in Spanish. If anybody with either more knowledge about this song or better Spanish skills than I could confirm or deny the authenticity of the information that these references are attributed to, I would greatly appreciate it.--Jpcase (talk) 03:21, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Did Máximo Ramó Ortiz collaborate with Andres Gutierrez?[edit]

Did Máximo Ramó Ortiz collaborate with Andres Gutierrez on this song or were their contributions to the piece made seperately?--Jpcase (talk) 21:07, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Word Origin[edit]

Does the word Sandunga/Zandunga originate from the Spanish language or the Zapotec language? Also which is the original spelling?--Jpcase (talk) 02:24, 24 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Connection to Tehuantepec Independence[edit]

Does anybody know how this song promoted the independence of Tehuantepec? As I said above, I have not actually seen the reference that this information is attributed to and simply borrowed it from another Wikipedia page. The song's topic of the death of a Zapotec woman's mother doesn't seem directly connected to the cause of Tehuantepec independence (Though I don't actually know anything about Tehuantepec), so can anybody with more knowledge of this song than I explain the connection?--Jpcase (talk) 22:34, 26 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
