There are several problems with what you've added. (a) The content seems to be exactly the same as some of the material on http://www.landmarkcollege.org/about/. It may be that the college is willing to release its writing under a suitable license, but you would need to include information on this release; the web page just says "All rights reserved". (b) There is no place in Wikipedia for sentences like "Why does Landmark's approach succeed? Because we take a different path." The only "we" is Wikipedia itself, NOT the author or institution. The material but be written in the style expected for an objective, impartial encyclopedia, not as promotion for anyone or anything. This sort of rhetorical question approach is unlikely to survive for long. This won't have been mentioned because getting rid of copyright violations is the number 1 priority (to avoid any possibility of legal action). (But thank you for taking the time to contribute! I'm sure you have valuable information to add, it just can't be in this form).Notinasnaid 15:51, 23 September 2005 (UTC)

Landmark College article languge

You'll notice that *this is not* what it says in the current article!! I removed that from the earlier version and re-wrote it in a more neutral voice to conform with Wiki guidelines. Also, I work at the college and have explicit permission to take information from our site or publications and use it on Wikipedia (see my talk page). What I've done is taken our more subjective material and made it more neutral for the wiki article. There are references to "we" in the current text.

It still reads like an advert. The worst case is in the first paragraph ('it sets the standard for higher educational teaching and learning excellence for students with learning disabilities' -- who says? Ok, I've gotten rid of that, as well as a few other subjective passages. I agree that the artcle needs to be re-written, but in the meantime I feel that, despite your view that it reads like an advert, it is objective enough. If you take a look at other college and/or university sites, many are *a lot* more marketing sounding than Landmark's. For example, if you look at Hampshire College under their "History" section, it reads, "Some of the most important founding documents of Hampshire College are collected in the book The Making of a College..." Important? Who says?

Highest tuition in the US

With due respect to the author, who obviously has a connection to the college, the placement of the statement as "the most expensive college" seems inappropriate. It is a fact, and a very interesting one at that. However, where it is now, it makes it seem like the author is boasting about how expensive the college is. I would maybe start a separate section on trivia, but I'm not sure how I'd go about that, and I want to respect your connection to the college and right to protect the info herein. I am not sure if it's worth including at all, simply because it's based on the inaccurate premise that Landmark is a four-year college, which -- as the Wikipedia article itself clearly states -- it is not. If we are going to keep that line in here, it really needs to include some type of statement about it being erroneously included in CNN's list. Beginning (talk) 14:59, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

sports

"Lanmark College has a well developed collegiate sporting program. In 2001 the men's soccer team finished undefeated, a historic moment for the young college's athletic program." OK, good start. But I'd love a lot more info. Granted, we're no UMass, or even Keene State, but sports was always important when I was there. However, when I was there, everything, FWIR, was coed. Our best soccer player was a former University of Hartford woman. Also, if I recall, we actually had a high school or two for a basketball opponent. It seems as of late, the AD has gotten away from the coed way and has established more gender-specific teams. My question, then, is what league(s) are we a member of (and does it have an external link)? Cory (sig not working) 00:11 22 Aug 2006

Changes

I revamped the programs section, adding the recent "Bridge" program, and mixing up the language in the others, as all of them started with "this program is designed to". Also, I'm not certain about the claim that Landmark is for students with, I forget the wording, high intelligence. A number of the students that I was there with had low IQ scores. If there's another unit of measurement we are using, it would be good to note that.Minidoxigirli 03:38, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

Landmark college is a school for learning how to cope with a learning disability/adhd. As a result there is a very wide range of IQ scores among the students. 80-140; meaning "dull normal" to Genius. Not sure if the College is allowed to suggest edits to its own content, but here are some updates to consider.

Under Academics, the Graduate Level certificate is in "Learning Differences and Neurodiversity." And since 2018 LC is the accredited body, not Marlboro College. https://www.landmark.edu/news/new-ba-in-psychology-and-online-post-baccalaureate-certificate-programs-s

Many editors are generally okay with COI editors making simple, uncontroversial updates to information already in an article. I would not suggest removing information yourself unless it's also a clear, uncontroversial edit. ElKevbo (talk) 22:01, 6 September 2022 (UTC)

After doing a quick review of entries for other colleges, I see no similar section mentioning tuition or framing costs in terms of "most" or "least" expensive. It is arbitrary and inappropriate to have allowed that information on this page in the first place, IMO.
