Sensationalism

[edit]

"the main road through town has long been notorious for murders and mysterious disappearances, including a British backpacker who vanished" in 2001. That main road is the Start Highway, 2,834 km (1,761 mi) long. That incident took place over 700km away. It has nothing to do with this town. I have removed that tabloid sensationalism. duffbeerforme (talk) 11:53, 10 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

When was the population 12?

[edit]

There is a statement

This was a significant increase from reported population of 12 people in 1976[1]

but I can't find any pre-2001 population figures there.

This figure does not make sense with the ABC reference that the population had "slowly the population dwindled to just 12" in the 20 years before 2022[2] and the report that a baby's birth in 2022 increased the population by 10%.[3]

I have therefore tried to make the best sense that I can of the figures but I would be very grateful if someone can help to clarify these. --Mgp28 (talk) 17:58, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
