Girl meets God was reviewed in the Chicago Tribune, the Boston Globe and the New York Times. Because this is an autobiographical memoir, these reviews are talking about Winner, and not just her book. Hence, they provide significant coverage independent of the subject. Thus, WP:GNG is satisfied, and the tag can be removed. StAnselm (talk) 23:54, 19 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
There is also an advertising tag - I can only assume it's because of the NYT quote about the book. But again, the quote is saying something about Winner herself, and her spiritual journey. StAnselm (talk) 21:05, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I am a fan and proponent of good religious biographical writing online, and of raising awareness of the scholars that elevate the performance and practical profile of Academe. But the tone of this article seems to better fit the subject's own view of self than a notion of an objective second opinion. That is, there is a strong promotional vein to this article, and little critical investment. As well, others have raised the question, in reviews of this very young, very untried scholar's published writings, of the very value of autobiographical writings from someone so young. Not every graduate student/Asst Prof writes a memoir, in part because they are too busy generating new scholarship in their field. When does someone so young truly deserve an encyclopedia article?
