Le Hoang Hung

[edit]

Currently, two things are going on with this article. WWGB has nominated the article for deletion and WWGB is deleting major sections of the article. In order to avoid, editing wars, please only make constructive changes or additions and contribute to this discussion about the focus.

There seems to be some deletion of material going on that is about a disagreement about the focus of this article. Le Hoang Hung's death is both about the crime and motive, which changed throughout the the incident, and press safety issues. At this time, Hung is still listed on the CPJ web site as a "motive confirmed" killing of a journalist, and this is sourced by the retrieved date. It is an unusual case in crime and press safety in that there was a reversal that emerged in the investigation. The investigation raised issues of concern about Vietnam, but Vietnam had not had this kind of issue in 23 years -- it has had other press freedom issues. These three strands 1) murder/motive, 2) press safety, and 3 press freedom in Vietnam are all entangled. The issue is not about sourcing.Crtew (talk) 14:31, 29 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
