The note about the remarkably low birth rate in Ladakhi villages is interesting but without explanation seems more remarkable than it is. I have no published sources, but having been in Ladakh for over ten years, I can say this is obviously due to the massive rural-to-urban migration. In many villages, the men and women of childbearing age have left the village for work and are staying in Leh town, while only their elderly parents remain in the village. They still consider the village their "home" and come for holidays and school vacations, but the census counted where people actually stayed for more than 6 months of the year, and thus people were counted where they work, study, or keep house, not in their ancestral villages. It is so shame full situation that any coverage of Ladakh peoples protest against Shortage of drinking water, Lack of teachers in Indian Govt schools, erotic power supply, High air fares, Students rights, Killing of people in neighbouring Kashmir, Quota issue against Indian state Government and High court is forcefully being denied.

Is it your neutrality WP ?

I am disappointed with this cherry picking article which is just a no value article on current Ladakh population centres situation.

How do you calculate the points?
If you mark all the villages, the map will probably look too crowded. But just marking all the subdivision headquarters and some important villages would be nice.
Note that there are going to be a lot of administrative changes to the Leh district in the coming years because they have a new dispensation. So you will need to keep this simple and maintainable. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 10:50, 14 December 2020 (UTC)
How do you calculate the points?— By adjusting the XY coordinates in the image label template according to the coordinates of that particular location either mentioned in the Wikipedia article or found in OSM. DTM (talk) 04:23, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
You can look up the latitude and longitude of locations on Google Maps by right-clicking on locations. The only problem is that Wikipedia expects latitudes and longitudes in degrees minutes and seconds, and Google Maps gives it in decimal degrees, but you can convert from one to the other using a spreadsheet. This is much more reliable than looking up locations in Wikipedia articles.
It is worth giving locations accurately and precisely, because it enables people to find the places mentioned on maps.-- Toddy1 (talk) 06:22, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
Yes, I agree with Toddy1 (except that I would go for OSM instead of Google Maps).
Try the template:Location map+. You can find an example at 1947 Poonch rebellion. Toddy1, no need for degree-minute-second format. Our templates can handle decimal degrees fine. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 09:04, 15 December 2020 (UTC)

As of the 2011 census, there were 111 inhabited and one uninhabited village in Leh district.[1] The published census documents have data on each of them.-- Toddy1 (talk) 14:47, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
