Untitled[edit]

I thought Leisure Suit Larry 4 was never made, as Al Lowe said there won't be a fourth part - therefore the fifth had to been done after the third. --Abdull 16:11, 1 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I've seen LSL4 and played it. It featured graphics and text control engine similar to LSL3. The main theme was 'pleasure cruise' I guess not unlike LSL7 (though I haven't played it). The copy I had was missing some files. You could get on the cruise but shortly it would require a missing file. I suspect the LSL4 was not finished or some files/sources were indeed lost.

Separate articles[edit]

I suggest putting each game in to its own separate article which will allow to evolve them better (like adding more freely technical details and trivia). This occurs in other game series articles (Myst and King's Quest), while others follow this format here (Space Quest, Monkey Island). Waiting for suggestions.     • Go ahead and split it. The first thing i thought when i read this article was that it's really lacking detail. If i can find the time, i will try and add some detail myself.

Inexplicably popular with women[edit]

The series was inexplicably popular with women, perhaps because Larry is depicted as a complete loser and men in general are frequently the butt of jokes.

I am quite skeptical about its popularity among women... I removed it until a reference can be found. :-) Also, depicting Larry as a "complete loser" is POV. Well... he manages his way through afterall, doesn't he? :-) bogdan 00:35, 4 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Larry throughout the games, dialogues etc etc seems like the victim. He is fooled easily, when he speaks to people they ingore him or tell him to buzz off and call him dork. Inspiration for Liesure Suit Larry[edit]

There was also the character "Larry Dallas" on Three's Company, a popular American sitcom in the early 80s. The sitcom character Larry was a leisure suit wearing "ladies man" who bears a lot of physical resemblance and mannerisms to LSL the game character. Just throwin that in the mix... Voice Actor Credits[edit]

In Shape up or Slip Out!, Love For Sail!, Casino, and Magna Cum Laude, Larry is voiced by Jan Rabson. Larry Lovage, the protagonist of Magna Cum Laude, is voiced by Tim Dadabo.
I am confused. Is Larry Lovage, the protagonist of Magna Cum Laude, not the Larry Laffer who was apparently the protagonist of the other games mentioned; and both of them appear in Magna Cum Laude? Forgive me, I've never played any of these games, and I don't know anything about them. The statement is probably correct. The series changes the protagonist in Magna Cum Laude, but AFAIK there is a cameo/introduction with the "original" Larry, who ist the uncle of the "new" Larry. Inaccuracy from Replay Games regarding LSL?[edit]

Clarify description in lede?[edit]

The lede describes it as "an adult-themed video game series", but it is not clear what "adult-themed" means: is it a comedy with sex jokes? A non-explicit dating sim? A pornographic game? A parody of dating/sex games? Some combination of the above? Does it differ between installments?
