Native vs Endemic
[edit]This sentence is in the first paragraph, and I can't figure out what the author meant. "They are native to tropical Asia including Malaysia, Indonesia and Borneo, while they are endemic to Croatia." How can it be native to many places and endemic to a different place? Lesina (grasshopper) → Lesina (insect) – Lesina is a bush cricket or katydid: not a grasshopper. Roy Bateman (talk) 04:49, 2 February 2019 (UTC)
- Support per nom. Not my area of expertise, but members of the family Tettigoniidae are apparently known as bush crickets, and pages in Category:Tettigoniidae genera are disambiguated with either "(insect)" or "(bush cricket)". PC78 (talk) 01:21, 3 February 2019 (UTC)
- Support Current disambiguator is inaccurate. While insect genera are frequently disambiguated by a common name for the order, this mostly happens in orders where there is a single common name that covers the entire order (e.g. beetle, fly). There are several common names for groups of insects in Orthoptera; it would be more consistent just to use (insect) as the disambiguator for Orthoptera genera.
