[edit]The article says: "He is the former chairman of the House Committee on Interior and Insular Affairs."
I haven't looked this up, but I worked for another Virginia congressman during those years and would bet a large amount of money that L.F. Payne did not chair that committee. He wasn't around long enough to be that senior. He may have been a member of the committee, I don't remember, but I can't believe he chaired the committee. I'm not going to do anything more than comment because I haven't looked it up. 66.16.14.68 (talk) 02:28, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
