Arabic
[edit]Is there a reason to list the name of the Liahona in Arabic? The BoM was originally written in either Reformed Egyptian or English (depending on who you ask), so it does not provide any sort of improvement or clarification as it may in other scripture-related cases. In any case, those living in the time period would not speak or write the Arabic of today. I would suggest its removal, but if there is good reason for it to remain (perhaps relating to those mentioned on the BoM Arabic page), then by all means, leave it. Suggestions? The other spindle?
[edit]"One of the spindles was said to point the direction Lehi and his party should travel..." And has anyone ever described the function of the other spindle? 75.163.218.136 (talk) 13:44, 17 October 2014 (UTC)
- That is an interesting question. The best source that I know of that specifically addresses this particular concern is:
- Bunker, Robert L. (1994), "The Design of the Liahona and the Purpose of the Second Spindle" (PDF), Journal of Book of Mormon Studies, 3 (2): 1–11

- Hopefully you will find that article enlightening. —Asterisk*Splat→ 18:38, 17 October 2014 (UTC)
