New England Glass Company
[edit]Really surprised that New England Glass Company does not get its own Wikipedia page. At one time, it was the largest glassmaker in the United States. Its co-founder, Deming Jarves, is considered the father of American glassmaking. Libbey's Toledo-based glass company existed in a "different glassmaking world" in another part of the country. My understanding is that Libbey closed the New England works in 1888 during a strike, and took many of the employees to Toledo to set up a new factory. TwoScars (talk) 19:01, 8 July 2023 (UTC)
