Reception PoV/ Sources

[edit]

The Reception section of this article seems to read like a review, and uses PoV-orientated words like "amateurish" and "disastrous". Also, the only citation here is a reference to a magazine – is the source available in online form or substitutable for a similar one that makes the same point? True, it does, I'm busy till like June 8th, but I'll look for credible internet sources to use for a revised article, tell anyone who reads this if I find anything. Dagorlad 3 20:22, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I am the journalist behind the magazine article which featured an interview with the guy behind the games (though I've not written anything for the Wikipedia sections regarding the games, since I assume it would fall under personal research, and have left it to others to write stuff based on outside sources). If you're looking for further sources to verify the nature of the games' development, I'm afraid you'll only find my own work, since I wrote the article specifically to document information which was otherwise lacking. No other print journalist has bothered to contact the development team. Though I've written a second article for the Hardcore Gaming 101 website, which features interview answers, and is freely available to all to read. Would this suffice as an online source? I think it would be very sad to delete any facts or information from Wikipedia, solely because there are only two sources available from the same person (Retro gamer article, and the HG101 article). Due to the perceived nature of these games, no one has had any interest in doing research and having it documented in a serious publication.

Fair use rationale for Image:FacesGanon.JPG

[edit]

Image:FacesGanon.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Youtube

[edit]

Should I include the fact that this game, along with the other one released the same day and Hotel Mario have risen to fame on Youtube via the popularity of Youtube Poop, which run under the tagline "When there's smoke, they pinch back." I mean, can you not look at these sentences and laugh? "All toasters toast Luigi for dinner." " Only Luigi can defeat lotsa spaghetti." "The princess will die! The birds will die! Your teacher will die! Your face will die! (insert random object here) will die!" And my all time favorite: "When somebody touches your face, first you say 'You will die.', then you say 'Toast', and then you say 'You MUST die' and then you get outta there!" Has the BBC, New York Times, GameSpot, IGN or another reliable site covered the "fad"? If not, it is not noteworthy for this article. -- ReyBrujo (talk) 17:11, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
